In 1951, the 26th Army Headquarters and Political Department of the Chinese People's Volunteers issued a certificate of merit to Comrade Zhou Wengu: Comrade Zhou Wenku made outstanding achievements in the fourth campaign to resist US aggression and aid Korea, defending the country and defending the country, and was rated as a third-class people's hero. . A special certificate is issued to show encouragement. The date of inscription is May 10, 1951. The fourth battle was from January 25 to April 21, 1951. The Chinese People's Volunteers and the Korean People's Army stopped the offensive launched by the "United Nations Army" led by the United States and the South Korean Army under its command, and bought time to cover the arrival of the follow-up corps. , to prepare for a counterattack, and to conduct a defensive campaign in the north-south area of the "Third-Eighth Front". In April 1951, in the second stage of the fourth campaign, the 26th Army of the Volunteer Army was ordered to deploy in the Xinfengdong area west of Sooning, North Korea to Cheorwon. On April 5, the "United Nations Army" crossed the 38th parallel, and the 3rd and 25th divisions of the United States advancing on the western front were stubbornly blocked by the 26th Army. Zhou Wengu is a soldier of the 9th Company of the 230th Regiment of the 77th Division of the 26th Army. He once won the third-class merit in the Battle of Huangcaoling. This time, he made another military service due to his bravery in the fourth battle.
Comrade Xin Hongen served as a sergeant for the 176th Regiment of the 59th Division of the 20th Army of the Ninth Corps of the Volunteer Army. Unfortunately, he died gloriously in the pursuit of Songdong on April 24, 1951. In 1951, the honorary certificate from the Ninth Corps of the Chinese People's Volunteer Army to the family of the martyr Xin Hongen was mailed to the family of the martyr Xin Hongen in Rizhaozhuang Village, Panshi District, Haiyang County, Shandong Province. Born in April 1922, Xin Hongen joined the revolution in 1946 and served as the platoon commander of the 3rd Battalion of the 176th Regiment of the 59th Division of the Volunteer Army. He was only 29 years old when he died in North Korea.
In addition to Martyr Xin Hongen, countless heroes emerged in the Volunteer Army: Luo Shengjiao, Huang Jiguang, Yang Gensi, Qiu Shaoyun... Many heroes, including Mao Anying, the eldest son of Mao Zedong, died on the soil of North Korea. They made huge sacrifices in the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea, and their spirit and deeds will always be remembered.
