Name:"The Eighth Route Army Headquarters in Taihang" Exhibition
  Introduction:
In commemoration of the 70th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War, in June 2015, our museum introduced the exhibition "The Eighth Route Army Headquarters in Taihang" from the Taihang Memorial Hall of the Eighth Route Army. This is the second exhibition in the series introduced by our museum to commemorate the victory in the War of Resistance, following the "Unyielding Struggle - The Historical Exhibition of the 14-Year War of Resistance in Northeast China." The Eighth Route Army, as the main force under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, fought bravely on the battlefields across the country, marching thousands of miles to Taihang, and united with the people in the vast enemy-occupied areas of North China, fighting bloodily against the enemy, writing a magnificent chapter of victory for the Chinese War of Resistance.
The exhibition is divided into six parts, with the main content as follows:
Part One: The Outbreak of the War, Leading the Troops to Battle. After the Marco Polo Bridge Incident, the main force of the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army was reorganized into the Eighth Route Army of the National Revolutionary Army, advancing to the front line of the War of Resistance in North China, achieving the first major victory at Pingxingguan, which greatly pleased the people.
Part Two: Stationed in Taihang, Strategizing. After the fall of Taiyuan, the Eighth Route Army marched into Taihang, mobilizing the masses and implementing the strategy of prolonged warfare and guerrilla warfare, establishing vast anti-Japanese bases behind enemy lines.
Part Three: Fierce Battles in North China, Shocking the World. After the War of Resistance entered a stalemate, the battlefield behind enemy lines in North China became the main battlefield of the War of Resistance, with the Eighth Route Army becoming the main force in the North China resistance. The Hundred Regiments Offensive greatly boosted the confidence of the military and civilians nationwide in the war.
Part Four: Hard Fighting, Overcoming Difficulties Together. After the outbreak of the Pacific War, the Japanese army brutally "swept" and blockaded North China. The headquarters of the Eighth Route Army led a large number of soldiers and the masses to fight hard together to overcome difficulties.
Part Five: Building Strength, Preparing for Counterattack. After the victory of the Battle of Stalingrad, the Chinese War of Resistance also saw a turning point. The headquarters of the Eighth Route Army implemented the central policy of "the enemy advances, we retreat," accumulating strength for a nationwide counteroffensive.
Part Six: Launching a Counteroffensive, Achieving Victory. After the Seventh National Congress, the Eighth Route Army launched a comprehensive counteroffensive against the invading Japanese army, making a significant contribution to the final victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance.
The exhibition is located on the third floor of the former command post of the Nanchang August 1 Uprising Memorial Hall. It will be open to the public for free starting from June 18, 2015, until July 30, 2015. We welcome the general public to visit.
