In August 1927, Su Yu joined the 11th Army's 24th Division's teaching regiment in Nanchang to participate in the uprising, serving as a squad leader of the guard team, responsible for the security of the uprising's command center. After the uprising was successful, the troops withdrew in batches to southern Guangdong, and the guard team he was part of was mainly responsible for the security of the logistics department and material warehouses. At that time, in addition to the submachine gun and bullets he carried, Su Yu also had two rifles, over 200 rounds of ammunition, along with a backpack, military blanket, water bottle, lunch box, iron pickaxe, iron shovel, and other equipment, totaling more than 30 kilograms.

Recently, Grandpa Sun Lin, who experienced the Korean War, shared his stories from that time. At 94 years old, he joined the Chinese Air Force in October 1950, right after graduating from the Fourth Aviation School in Shenyang. At that time, General Wang Hai, who passed away in August 2020, was the commander of the 1st Squadron of the 9th Regiment of the 3rd Air Division, where Sun Lin served. The "Wang Hai Squadron," led by Wang Hai, fought over 80 fierce battles against the U.S. Air Force, known as the "world's ace," shooting down or damaging 29 enemy aircraft, thus becoming a true ace squadron. And Sun Lin was the "doctor" for these ace planes.

The course mainly focused on the Battle of Xuzhou and the Defense of Wuhan during the War of Resistance, specifically detailing the combat processes, military deployments, and historical significance of these two classic battles. In class, everyone actively participated and exchanged ideas, which not only allowed them to revisit this historical period but also expanded their knowledge base and increased their understanding of the subject matter, resulting in a positive learning outcome.

"Tang Shengzhi during the Northern Expedition"

In mid-August 2016, our museum's engineering department launched the "August 1st Grand Lecture" series. The lecturer, Tu Yun, presented on "Tang Shengzhi during the Northern Expedition." The course was divided into two sessions, focusing on three battles: the battle between Tang Shengzhi and Zhao Hengti, the battle between Tang Shengzhi and Ye Kaixin, and the battle between Tang Shengzhi and Li Zongren. These battles reflect the rise and fall of Tang Shengzhi's military power, and an analysis of his military and political work during the Northern Expedition was conducted. The course was closely related to our museum's display of the "Enemy and Friendly Forces Situation Map" and explored the historical materials behind the exhibition panels.

"The Revolutionary Career of Xi Zhongxun"

In mid-March, our museum's engineering "August 1st Lecture Hall" officially started its classes. The lecturer, Huang Haifeng, presented a course titled "The Revolutionary Career of Xi Zhongxun," using a combination of videos and narration to elaborate on three aspects: the major events in Xi Zhongxun's life, the Shaanxi-Gansu revolutionary base, and anecdotes from his life. The course is closely related to the second part of our museum's exhibition, "The Glorious History of the People's Army," and explores the historical materials behind the display boards.
