Nanchang August 1st Uprising Memorial Hall is a special memorial hall set up to commemorate the Nanchang Uprising. It was established in 1956 and officially opened to the outside world in 1959. In 1961, it was announced by the State Council as the first batch of key cultural relics protection units in China (five former revolutionary sites under its jurisdiction - the former site of the general headquarters, the former site of Helong headquarters, the former site of Ye Ting headquarters, the former site of Zhu De officer education regiment and Zhu De's former residence).
