Introduction:
On the morning of September 20, the "Commemoration of the 90th Anniversary of the Founding of the Army and the 85th Anniversary of the Establishment of the 26th Red Army 'Zhaojin Spirit' Touring Exhibition" was held at the Nanchang August 1st Uprising Memorial Museum, hosted by the Tongchuan Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government, and co-organized by the Nanchang August 1st Uprising Memorial Museum and the Zhaojin Memorial Museum of the Shaanxi-Gansu Revolutionary Base. Long Henan, a member of the Standing Committee of the Nanchang Municipal Party Committee and head of the Publicity Department, and Chang Yaling, a member of the Standing Committee of the Tongchuan Municipal Party Committee and head of the Publicity Department, attended the event and visited the exhibition.
The opening ceremony was hosted by Zhao Gangping, director of the Nanchang Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Film and Television, with Chang Yaling delivering a speech, and Long Henan announcing the opening of the "Zhaojin Spirit" exhibition in Nanchang. Also present at the opening ceremony were: Zhao Zhongxiang, political commissar of the 96882 troops, Yin Tiancheng, director of the Zhaojin Memorial Museum, Wang Xiaoling, director of the Nanchang August 1st Uprising Memorial Museum, and about 300 participants including local military personnel, students, and the public.
In her speech, Chang Yaling stated: Remembering history is to move forward better; only by not forgetting the past can we open up the future. Nanchang is the "place where the military flag was raised" and the heroic city of the August 1st Uprising. This year marks the 90th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese People's Liberation Army. The arrival of the "Zhaojin Spirit" in Nanchang is a tribute to the older generation of revolutionaries and to the great Chinese People's Army. At the same time, through this event, we hope to learn from Nanchang in terms of inheriting red culture and developing red tourism, and better promote the transformation and development of Tongchuan.
On February 14, 2015, General Secretary Xi Jinping pointed out during his inspection of Zhaojin: The "Zhaojin Spirit" is still applicable today, and we must strengthen the study of the history of revolutionary bases, summarize historical experiences, and better promote revolutionary spirit and fine traditions. To implement the spirit of the General Secretary's speech, the Tongchuan Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government decided to establish different commemorative themes each year to carry out the "Zhaojin Spirit" national touring exhibition, promoting red traditions and inheriting red genes. Since September 2015, a total of 19 exhibitions have been held, covering 9 provinces and cities.
The "Zhaojin Spirit" exhibition condenses the glorious years of the Shaanxi-Gansu Revolutionary Base Zhaojin Soviet Area into five parts: preface, red hot land, red spirit, red inheritance, and conclusion, with a total of 124 high-definition images. It richly illustrates the profound connotation of the "Zhaojin Spirit," which mainly includes the heroic spirit of "fearless sacrifice and tenacious struggle; independent and innovative courage; practical approach and close ties with the masses." It showcases the tremendous changes in the revolutionary old area and the beautiful Tongchuan in the process of transformation and development, allowing more people to understand Tongchuan and Zhaojin.
This touring exhibition will be held from September 20 to 24 at the new hall of the Nanchang August 1st Uprising Memorial Museum. Nanchang is the third stop of the 2017 "Zhaojin Spirit" national touring exhibition, which will continue to be held in several representative cities in the history of the development of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, such as the Gutian Conference Memorial Hall and other well-known cities of red culture in the country.
