In March 1961, after visiting the Nanchang Uprising Memorial Hall, Xu Teli was invited to write a message in the reception room. The message was written on a rectangular piece of ordinary rough-edged paper, without mounting. The message reads: "Thirty-four years ago, during the Nanchang uprising, I was here. Comrade He Long said to me: 'Zhang Fakuai is afraid of failure, but I, He Long, am not afraid of failure. If we fail, we will try again.' This sentence left a deep impression on me, and I still remember it clearly. The revolution will never be smooth sailing; if we fail, we must continue to fight, and when we encounter difficulties, we must find ways to achieve victory."
