Part One Overview of Nanchang August 1st Uprising Memorial Museum
I. Main Responsibilities of the Unit.
Nanchang August 1st Uprising Memorial Museum is a specialized memorial established to commemorate the Nanchang Uprising.
It manages five revolutionary sites: the former site of the Nanchang Uprising Command, the former site of Ye Ting's Command, Zhu De's former residence, the former site of Zhu De's Officer Education Corps, and the former site of He Long's Command, all of which are key cultural relics protected at the national level. Our main responsibilities include collecting and exhibiting cultural relics, promoting national culture, specifically including: collecting, identifying, cataloging, and preserving cultural relics, exhibiting cultural relics, replicating and restoring cultural relics, conducting research related to cultural relics, and publishing promotional materials.
II. Main Work Tasks in 2020
2020 was a special year. Under the correct leadership of the Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television, and Tourism, despite the impact of the pandemic, our museum remained true to its original mission and continued to forge ahead in various work areas, achieving good results.
(1) People-oriented, visitor services continuously improved.
During the pandemic closure, our museum promptly launched an online digital exhibition and a VR panoramic tour to help the public "visit exhibitions without leaving home"; after reopening, we strictly implemented pandemic prevention and control measures, fully enforcing appointment and visitor limit policies, and continuously upgraded and optimized the appointment system based on visitor feedback.
As of now, we have received a total of 381,000 visitors, conducted 584 guided tours, and successfully hosted 12 important receptions, including for Su Hui, Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, and He Lifeng, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group of the National Development and Reform Commission.
To further enhance the visitor experience, we collaborated deeply with Huawei to innovate a new smart guided experience, integrating rich virtual content in the exhibition area with holographic re-enactments of historical events, aiming to create the first smart holographic guided red memorial museum in the country.
(2) Crafting fine products, exhibition highlights frequently emerge.
During the pandemic, to support Wuhan, our museum introduced the exhibition "Those Years, Those People, Those Events - Red Classics in Comic Books" from the former site of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China in Wuhan, and planned activities such as "We Invite You to Exhibit" and "Appreciate Paintings and Exhibitions", collaborating with the Nanchang Education Bureau to conduct a painting collection activity titled "See Red Comic Books, Draw True Heroes in Your Heart", receiving 982 paintings from elementary school students across the city.
Among them, 65 outstanding works were exhibited together with the exhibition on "May 18 International Museum Day", marking the first offline exhibition in Nanchang.
On September 30, the Martyrs' Memorial Day, to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Chinese People's Volunteer Army's participation in the Korean War, our museum collaborated with the Korean War Memorial Museum (Dandong City Museum) and the Jiangxi Provincial Cultural Relics Store to launch the special exhibition "Bloody Battles - Commemorating the 70th Anniversary of the Chinese People's Volunteer Army's Participation in the Korean War", showcasing 121 cultural relics (sets) from our museum and the cultural relics store, reviewing the glorious history of the Korean War and vividly displaying the revolutionary spirit of the Chinese People's Volunteer Army.
As of the end of the National Day holiday, the number of visitors reached 15,000, attracting attention from many media outlets nationwide.

(3) Striving for progress, the red education outreach has achieved remarkable results.

Around major holidays and commemorative days, combining online and offline, our museum has carried out 30 themed educational activities such as "Paper Folding Cloud Memorial" and "I Am the Inheritor of Intangible Cultural Heritage, Celebrating Dragon Boat Festival in the Memorial Museum".
This was complemented by 6 live broadcasts. Among them, the "Paper Folding Cloud Memorial" special event during Qingming had over 10 million clicks on the Sina Weibo platform, and a single article on the WeChat public account had 14,000 reads.
We received over 500 "Time-space Mailbox" video dialogues, gaining high social attention.

with 40 platforms broadcasting live, accumulating nearly 10 million views.
关注度;《追寻八一足迹 追忆红色初心》吸引了 20 多家媒体,
(4) Keeping pace with the times, the publicity matrix is making a strong impact. First,
we improved our official website and new media platforms such as "Two Weibo and Douyin".
During the pandemic, the WeChat public account launched a series of premium columns such as "The Most Beautiful Anti-epidemic Voice" and "Cloud Tour of August 1st".
Among them, "Cloud Tour of August 1st" featured a different August 1st museum spokesperson cartoon character "Little Junjun" designed based on the content theme.
It tells red stories in a relaxed and pleasant manner, fitting the current interactive new media context.
We also expanded our influence through WeChat and Weibo platforms, forming a unique red culture IP.
The official Weibo made it into the top 100 of the "China Museum Hot Search List" in the first quarter of 2020 and ranked among the top ten hot searches in the first, third, and sixth issues.
It won the "Top Ten Cultural Tourism System Weibo in Jiangxi Province" for the first half of 2020.
Second,
the series of videos planned and launched became a hit online. During the "August 1st" period, the micro-movie "Guardians of August 1st" was played 800,000 times across all media platforms.
The special documentary "Stories Told by Xi Jinping: The Gunshots on Nanchang City" and "Learning Military History with Chairman Xi" were broadcast on platforms such as Xinhua News Agency, CCTV News Client, and Learning Power.
We participated in the "Cloud National Treasure" online short video promotion activity, releasing videos promoting cultural relics such as "Departure - Illuminating the Path Ahead" and won the "Special Award for National Treasure Storytelling."
Third,
we cooperated with mainstream media from CCTV to expand our museum's influence. On Army Day, we participated in a large-scale online live broadcast co-hosted by Xinhua News Agency, Learning Power, and China Central Television, titled "Exploring Red Memories, Inheriting Red Culture - Entering the Place Where the Military Flag Was Raised" and "Our Team Towards the Sun".
This vividly told the story of the Nanchang Uprising, allowing the audience to "cloud tour the museum" without leaving home.
We also participated in the "China Promotion" series program initiated by Chinese channels, Xinhua Net Client, China Net+, Baidu, etc., using the museum sign as a starting point to tell the stories of the museum sign, collections, and revolutionary history.

(5) Swimming against the current, the cultural and creative industry bravely crosses the winter.
Since the pandemic this year, the number of visitors has sharply decreased,
which has greatly impacted our museum's cultural and creative industry, but we are striving to inject new momentum and vitality into the development of the cultural and creative industry.
First,
we innovatively developed cultural and creative products. This year, we developed a total of 14 types of cultural and creative products including the "Heroic and Proud Little Junjun" series, personalized stamps for August 1st, and August 1st postcards.
We created 34 high-quality cultural and creative products, breaking through creative bottlenecks, and attempted cross-border integration, combining red cultural creativity with research and study.
For the first time, we collaborated with an educational publishing house to create a children's hand-drawn book - "Our August 1st".
We also integrated with digital technology, collaborating with Jiangxi Provincial Geological and Mapping Company to conduct AR data modeling and APP production.
Currently, we have completed the production of the Little Junjun APP and part of the scene modeling.
