2013 Major Events in the Museum

In January, our museum was awarded the title of "Civilized Unit of Jiangxi Province." From January 15 to February 4, 11 guides recruited by the Nanchang Municipal Bureau of Culture and New Media received professional training at the Bayi Museum, which included theoretical classes, practical sessions in the exhibition hall, recitation, and military training. On January 16, to commemorate the 120th anniversary of Comrade Mao Zedong's birth, Gao Yansheng, a member of the Jiangxi Calligraphy Association and a director of the China Calligraphers and Painters Association, donated his calligraphy works to our museum: "Qinyuanchun·Snow," "Qingpingyue·Liupan Mountain," and "Shuidiao Getou·Revisiting Jinggangshan."
January

On January 16, to commemorate the 120th anniversary of Comrade Mao Zedong's birth, Gao Yansheng, a member of the Jiangxi Provincial Calligraphy Association and a director of the China Calligraphy and Painting Association, donated his calligraphy works to our museum: 'Qinyuanchun·Snow', 'Qingpingyue·Liupan Mountain', and 'Shuidiao Getou·Revisiting Jinggangshan'.
From January 20 to 24, our museum's deputy director Cao Jiaqi and others visited the Jiaxing Nanhu Memorial Hall for inspection, preparing for the 'Great Beginning - Nanchang Uprising Mobile Exhibition' to be launched before this year's 'August 1' Army Day.
On January 24, the first party representative conference of the Nanchang Municipal Bureau of Culture and News was held at the former site of the New Fourth Army Headquarters, attended by 8 people including museum director Wang Xiaoling, party branch secretary Liu Chagen, deputy director Cao Jiaqi, assistant director Qi Gang, and office director Lin Nanhong. At the meeting, Qi Gang was elected as a member of the party committee of the Nanchang Municipal Bureau of Culture and News.
On the afternoon of January 31, Fa Jianming, deputy director of the Nanchang Bureau of Culture and News, and others conducted a safety inspection of Zhu De's former residence before the Spring Festival, emphasizing the need to strengthen patrols and further enhance awareness of cultural relics safety protection. Director Wang Xiaoling and assistant director Qi Gang accompanied them.
From January 30 to February 5, our museum held a 'Little Volunteer' training class.
From January to March, our museum filled out the '2012 National First-Class Museum Operation Evaluation Application Form'.
February
In February, our museum was awarded the title of 'Qualified Unit for the Standardized Construction of Workers' Representative Assembly' by the Nanchang Municipal Federation of Trade Unions.
On February 22, Liu Chagen, the party branch secretary of our museum, gave a party class to all party members on 'The 18th National Congress Report is Our Party's Political Declaration and Action Program for Achieving New Victories'.
On February 28, director Wang Xiaoling attended the provincial cultural relics work conference.
On February 28, the cultural work research meeting of the Nanchang Municipal Bureau of Culture and News was held at our museum.
March
On March 2, the 'Forever Model - Photo Exhibition of Lei Feng's Deeds' was grandly opened at our museum.
From March 20 to May 17, Liu Chagen, the party branch secretary of the museum, studied at the Nanchang Municipal Party School for two months.
On March 24, to implement the spirit of the 18th National Congress of the Party and better promote the new developments and achievements of the people's army, our museum plans to enrich and update the content of 'The Glorious History of the People's Army' in the basic exhibition, and invite well-known experts from institutions such as the China People's Revolutionary Military Museum to discuss the exhibition revision.
April
On April 2, a large-scale themed event 'Commemorating Revolutionary Martyrs, Always Following the Party' was held at our museum, attended by 1,200 people from Zhu City Primary School, Shanghe Street Primary School, and Cotton City Primary School.
On April 8, members of the new division cadre training class of the Nanjing Military Region visited our museum for study.
On April 9, Meng Xin from the Mass Work Department attended the 15th Congress of the Communist Youth League of Jiangxi Province.
On April 30, leaders and experts from the Institute of Modern History of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences visited our museum for inspection.
May
In May, our museum received the 'May 1 Labor Medal' from Jiangxi Province.
On May 23, the 'August 1 Ballad Entering the Classroom' event took place at Cotton City Primary School.
On May 27, the 'Study Party Constitution, Give Party Class' event, hosted by the Xihu District People's Government and organized by our museum, was held at our museum, where Zhou Zhi'an, the secretary of the Xihu District Committee, gave a unique party class to over 200 party members in the district.
From May 27 to 28, the 'Xiangyu Cup' National Zhou Enlai Memorial Site Guide Competition was held in Huai'an, Jiangsu, where the entry 'A Precious Blanket' by Ye Qiyun from our museum's Mass Work Department won an excellence award.
On May 28, deputy director Cao Jiaqi went to Beijing to attend the 'Red Classic Modern Inheritance' - Seminar on Cultural and Creative Products of Revolutionary Memorials and Exhibition of Tourism Souvenirs organized by the Memorial Committee of the Chinese Museum Association.
On May 31, Liu Chagen, the party branch secretary of the museum, interpreted the new party constitution.
June
On June 2, a theoretical training class for the first phase of the 'Soul Casting Journey' for leadership cadres of a certain army group visited our museum for study.
From June 2 to 8, 15 staff members from the Mass Work Department, the Xiaoping Trail Exhibition Hall, the Provincial Science and Technology Museum, and the Yingtan City Reception Office visited our museum.
On June 14, our museum held a democratic life meeting of the branch.
On June 26, Zhou Tian from our museum's Mass Work Department won third place in the speech competition 'Learning the 18th National Congress, Practicing the Chinese Dream' for party members and cadres of the Nanchang Municipal Direct Organs.
July
On July 19, Liu Chagen, the party branch secretary, interpreted the current constitution.
On July 22, to solemnly commemorate the 86th anniversary of the founding of the people's army, the Nanchang August 1 Uprising Memorial Hall launched the exhibition 'Great Beginning - Nanchang Uprising Mobile' at the Jiaxing Nanhu Revolutionary Memorial Hall.
On July 27, director Wang Xiaoling attended the 'Fourth Academic Seminar on August 1 Spirit' organized by the Nanchang August 1 Spirit Research Association and delivered a speech on 'Inheriting the August 1 Spirit to Strengthen the Construction of Patriotic Education Base'.

On July 30, our museum's exhibition and management department sent personnel to interview Comrade Cai Zhongzhen, who served as Premier Zhou Enlai's guard during the 8th Plenary Session of the 8th Central Committee and the Central Work Conference in August 1961 (from July 1959 to August 16).
On July 31, our museum's exhibition "Using Troops Like a God - Mao Zedong's Military Command Art" will be open to the public for free. The exhibition aims to commemorate the 120th anniversary of Comrade Mao Zedong's birth and the 86th anniversary of the founding of the army, inspiring people to learn and inherit Mao Zedong's military thought.
From July 31 to August 2, Chen Yan from the Mass Work Department went to Kunming to participate in the academic seminar "Zhu De and the Yunnan Army and the Nanchang Uprising."
From July 30 to the end of September, all departments of our museum will conduct a thorough investigation of the safety hazards of cultural relics in accordance with the spirit of the "2013 Special Action Implementation Plan for Cultural Relics Safety Hazards" issued by the provincial and municipal cultural relics and public security departments.
August
On August 1, the 2013 "Little Volunteer Tour Guide Summer Training Class" officially opened. This training class will hold two sessions, with a total of 20 students (ages 7 to 15). The aim is to further strengthen the connection between the museum and the public, build a communication platform between the museum and children, and enhance children's awareness of cultural relic protection and love for their hometown.
From August to mid-October, our museum will carry out repairs on the old site of the August 1st Uprising - the Ye Ting Command Post.
From August 6 to 8, our museum sent personnel to participate in the "Red Third Army's Capture of Rucheng Seminar" in Hunan.
On August 10, Deputy Director Cao Jiaqian went to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, to attend the 23rd International Council of Museums Conference.
On August 21, our museum's party branch held a "Moral Lecture Hall - Anti-Corruption and Integrity Education" activity.
September
On September 4, a delegation led by Wang Guochang, Secretary-General of the Qinghai Provincial Party Committee, visited our museum.
On September 11, General Qian Guoliang, former commander of the Shenyang Military Region, former Secretary of the Jiangxi Provincial Party Committee Wan Shaofen, and Mao Zedong's daughter Li Ne visited the Nanchang August 1st Uprising Memorial Hall to deeply commemorate the great achievements of the older generation of proletarian revolutionaries.
On September 26, Deputy Director Qi Gang led a team of 4 from the Exhibition and Management Department to Harbin for preliminary investigation and preparation for an original touring exhibition.
October
On October 13, the Youth League Committee held a selection event for little tour guides, with Meng Xin serving as a judge.
On October 14, Party Branch Secretary Liu Chagen went to the Hakka Museum in Shanghang, Fujian, to participate in the exhibition evaluation activity.
On October 17, our museum held an activity to "Tell the Story of Founding Leader Mao Zedong" at Cotton City Primary School.
On October 25, Deputy Director Qi Gang participated in a training course on cultural heritage creative industries organized by the State Administration of Cultural Heritage and obtained a business training certificate in the cultural relics industry.
On October 26, the opening ceremony of the anti-cult warning education tour and the national fitness qigong exchange and display series event was held at the August 1st Square. Our museum's Zhou Tian and Liu Keyuan successfully completed the explanation task.
November
On November 5, Director Wang Xiaoling attended the 8th National Mao Zedong Memorial Hall Directors Forum and delivered a speech on "Striving for Excellence and Highlighting Features - The Nanchang August 1st Uprising Memorial Hall's Series of Activities to Commemorate the 120th Anniversary of Mao Zedong's Birth."
On November 6, a delegation led by Fu Qisheng, Director of the Fujian Gutian Conference Memorial Hall, visited our museum for research and exchange on cultural relic management concepts, old site construction and protection, cultural relic collection and management, and tour guide training.
On November 8, at the "Spirit of the Soviet Area and the Party's Mass Line and the Fifth Soviet Area Spirit Seminar" held in Beijing, our paper "Looking at Mao Zedong's View of the Masses from Important Works during the Soviet Area Period" was rated as an excellent paper by Qiushi Magazine, Guangming Daily, the First Research Department of the Central Party History Research Office, and the Jiangxi Provincial Party Committee Propaganda Department.
From November 13 to 16, the 2013 Annual Meeting of the Museum Association's Memorial Hall Professional Committee and the forum "The Position and Role of Memorial Halls in National Rejuvenation - The Practice and Reflection of Memorial Hall Personnel" was held in Jiaxing, attended by Liu Chagen, Secretary of the Party Branch of the museum.
From November 14 to 15, the theoretical seminar commemorating the 80th anniversary of Mao Zedong's investigation in Caixi Township, jointly organized by the Chinese Communist Party History Figures Research Association, the Central Party History Research Office, and the Fujian Provincial Party Committee Propaganda Department, was held in Shanghang County. Our museum sent personnel to participate.
On November 15, the academic seminar on "Mao Zedong and the New Spring Training Theory" was held in Liancheng County, Fujian. Our museum sent personnel to participate.
In mid-November, the Mass Work Department completed the year-end assessment, divided into two parts: exhibition hall trial lectures and reading notes.
From November 17 to 19, the first training course for key personnel in the movable cultural relics census in Jiangxi Province and the provincial movable cultural relics census work meeting were held in Nanchang, with our museum sending personnel to participate.
From November 17 to 24, the China-Europe City Expo was held at the Beijing Exhibition Center, with Meng Xin from the Mass Work Department seconded by the Provincial Development and Reform Commission.
On November 20-21, Ge Jiaqi, chief expert of China Aviation Planning and Development Co., Ltd., visited our museum and proposed suggestions for the seismic reinforcement of the old site building of the August 1st Uprising Command.
On November 29, our museum held an activity to tell the story of "Founding Leader Mao Zedong" at Zhushi Primary School.
December
On December 4, Wang Guofen, director of the Jiaxing Nanhu Revolutionary Memorial Hall, visited our museum.
On December 7, the China (Nanchang) 2013 Military-themed Film Creation Conference was held, and our museum sent personnel to participate.
On December 9, Deputy Director Cao Jiaqian went to Beijing to participate in the 6th Museum Education · Beijing Forum.
On December 12, a delegation led by Hao Dongchen, Deputy Director of the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Cultural Relics, and Chen Jianguo, Deputy Director of our museum, visited for research.
