  Name:Wheat Straw Collage Calligraphy Work
 Introduction:
This is a piece of decorative art donated by folk artist Yang Zhengzhan to the August 1st Uprising Memorial Museum - a wheat straw collage titled "Mao Zedong's Poetry • Xijiangyue • Jinggangshan."
Wheat straw collage art originated in the Sui and Tang dynasties as a court craft. It is a form of collage art, similar to paper cutting and fabric collage. The wheat straw undergoes multiple processes: "smoking, steaming, bleaching, scraping, pushing, ironing, as well as cutting, carving, weaving, and painting." Generally, it is not colored, and is cut and pasted according to the natural luster, patterns, and texture of the wheat straw. The wheat straw collage retains the natural luster and texture of the straw while incorporating various artistic techniques from traditional Chinese painting, printmaking, paper cutting, and sculpture, making the natural luster, patterns, and texture of the wheat straw collage more artistically expressive, with a stronger local flavor, highlighting a more natural, simple, elegant, and grand characteristic, exuding a unique and splendid artistic effect.
This wheat straw painting work uses split wheat straw processed and placed on a red fabric base, mimicking the handwriting of Comrade Mao Zedong, resulting in a golden effect. The creator donated it to the August 1st Uprising Memorial Museum, reflecting his love for the great leader, respect for revolutionary history, and trust in the revolutionary memorial.
