"Telling good red stories, inheriting the red gene, and promoting revolutionary spirit." From October 12 to 14, 2020, the third Jiangxi Province Red Story Interpreter Competition and the second Jiangxi Province Red Tourism Excellent Interpreter Competition, jointly organized by the Propaganda Department of the Jiangxi Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China and the Jiangxi Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, were successfully held at Jiangxi Tourism and Trade Vocational College. A total of 39 professional interpreters and 37 volunteers from national patriotic education demonstration bases and various red tourism scenic spots in Jiangxi Province participated in the competition.

In preparation for this competition, the August 1st Museum began selecting, training, and assessing interpreters in mid-September, ultimately sending five contestants to participate. During the competition, contestants showcased their professional qualities, skills, and knowledge through three segments: self-selected explanations, impromptu 100 seconds, and ultimate Q&A, providing the judges and audience with a spectacular audio-visual feast. After two days of intense competition, Yang Huan and Xiong Tian from the professional group of the Nanchang August 1st Uprising Memorial Museum won the second prize for their outstanding performance, while Wei Chen received the excellence award in the professional group. Huang Ping and Liu Changjiang from the volunteer group of the Nanchang August 1st Uprising Memorial Museum won the excellence award in the volunteer group.

This competition not only provided an opportunity for excellent interpreters across the province to showcase their talents but also served as a review of the interpreter team, establishing models and leading by example. The August 1st Museum is committed to building a team of gold medal interpreters, hoping to enhance the overall interpretation skills of the team through competition, strengthen team cohesion, and promote the comprehensive development of the interpreter team.
