On the afternoon of July 16, 2017, the exhibition "Seeking the Source of the Army, Admiring the Glory of the Soldiers" commemorating the 90th anniversary of the army was unveiled at the Shanghai Youth Out-of-School Activity Camp - Oriental Oasis. Approximately 300 pictures, over 300 physical items including military medals, badges, and documentary materials were displayed. Some old soldiers from the New Fourth Army, representatives of the land, sea, and air forces stationed in Shanghai, as well as over 200 students from across the country participated in the exhibition. The 2017 Shanghai Middle School Students' "Walking the Border Defense Line" expedition ceremony, guided by the Shanghai Municipal Publicity Department, was also held simultaneously.
This exhibition was jointly organized by Oriental Oasis, the Nanchang Uprising Memorial Museum, and the Shanghai New Fourth Army Historical Research Association. It aims to review the glorious history and great achievements of the people's army and showcase the brilliant deeds of revolutionary heroes who sacrificed their lives for the party and the people's cause. The first part of the exhibition is titled "The Great Beginning - Historical Exhibition of the Nanchang Uprising," divided into five sections: "Rising in Crisis," "Great Decisions," "Firing the First Shot," "Southward to Guangdong," and "Battling on Jinggang Mountain," displaying approximately 300 pictures. The second part is titled "Generals of the Republic Emerging from the Nanchang Uprising," showcasing the journeys of 7 marshals, 3 generals, 4 lieutenant generals, 7 major generals, and 6 brigadier generals. The exhibition also includes physical displays of military medals, badges, documentary materials, including 165 badges, uniforms and regular clothes of the People's Liberation Army's navy, army, and air force, documents, books, and other related items.
