Hello everyone, my name is Lin Yanping, the docent of the August 1 Uprising Memorial Hall in Nanchang. I will never forget the summer of 2010. It was my first day on the job. When I put on my headset and shouted out the first sentence of my speech: "Welcome to the Nanchang August 1 Uprising Memorial Hall, I'm happy to explain it to you!" All quiet.
Friend, when are you most nervous? When I was most nervous, I could hear my heart pounding like a drum, and all was silent. In this way, I ended the first lecture as Bain in the mood of a little deer. Just as I was about to take a deep breath, the overwhelming applause hit me. I was overwhelmed and bent down and bowed deeply. At that moment, my eyes were wet: I sighed that I finally took the first step, and I also thanked the audience for not giving up on me and listening to my lame and endorsed explanation from beginning to end. The heartbeat that day, the applause that day, I will always remember.
In a blink of an eye, in ten years, my audience has changed from 0 to 1 and then has increased countlessly. My position has extended from the memorial hall to the school, the community and even the live broadcast room. I not only use the microphone to tell the August 1st memory, but also use pen and ink to record The August 1st story in the new era.
Guardian, in my opinion, its timeline is very long. In the future, will I protect August 1 for a lifetime? I think the answer is yes. The word "August 1" has been deeply integrated into my blood, the gene of red, the feelings of red, and the spirit of red, let me, as a son and daughter of Hero City, truly feel the power of faith and the greatness of the motherland. A job full of enthusiasm when you have just worked for one year shows that you are very young; working for five years with undiminished enthusiasm proves that you like your profession very much; but what if it is more than ten years?
In 2005, I just graduated from university and entered the Nanchang August 1st Uprising Memorial Hall to become a lecturer. I have been doing this for 15 years. I want to say, this is my passion, my whole youth.
From simple displays to immersive experience venues, I have witnessed the transformation of the memorial hall from an old building to a new one, from hundreds of thousands of visitors to millions of visitors.
Here, we are not only guarding the great history of the Nanchang Uprising, but also guarding a spirit, a strength, and a responsibility. Even in the next 15 years, I will still dedicate my love and strength to protect August 1 and inherit the spirit. I am Gan Jing, the guardian.
I have been engaged in interpreting work for 11 years. From a novice in history to an old interpreter who has been tempered for more than ten years, I often think how lucky I am to be able to do interpretive work where the military flag is raised, leading the audience to open their memories. Box, time and again to embark on that glorious road full of suffering and twists and turns. I think history needs to be passed on.
