Phase One - Entering the History Classroom to Follow in the Footsteps of He Long
Have you seen "The Founding of an Army"? The character He Long, who has two distinctive mustaches and speaks with authority, must have left a deep impression on the children!
In this session, our activities will revolve around He Long, the commander-in-chief of the Nanchang Uprising. The children will no longer be mere spectators; they will become part of the fierce battle, feeling the patriotic sentiments of a great generation.
1. Understanding the Life of He Long
The special exhibition "Iron Heart Following the Party" provides a detailed introduction to Comrade He Long's life and his immortal achievements during the Nanchang Uprising. Comrade He Long was an outstanding leader of the Party and the country and one of the founders of the People's Liberation Army. At the time of the failure of the Great Revolution and the Communist Party's critical moment, he followed the Party with an iron heart, leading his troops to participate in the Nanchang Uprising, becoming one of the founders of the people's army.
2. Visiting He Long's Command Post
The former site of He Long's command post is one of the historical sites of the "Nanchang August 1st Uprising", located at 165 Zigulu Road, Nanchang City. In 1961, it was officially announced by the State Council as a national key cultural relic protection unit. The former site of He Long's command post was originally the Hongdao Church of the Chinese Holy Church, a blend of Chinese and Western architectural styles. In late July 1927, He Long led the 20th Army of the National Revolutionary Army to Nanchang to participate in the Nanchang Uprising. The military command post was set up in Hongdao Church, and some leaders of the uprising lived in the small building behind the church, holding several important meetings to plan the uprising. In the early morning of August 1, 1927, He Long, Liu Bocheng, and Zhou Yiqun commanded the uprising here. The bullet marks from enemy shells remain on the windows of the building, recording the fierce battle during the uprising.
3. Life and Death Protection - Mourning Huang Lin
The guide will tell the children the story of Huang Lin, the guard beside He Long during the August 1st Uprising, and organize a collective mourning.
4. Cultural Relics Classroom - The Story of He Long's Teacup
The children will come to the history classroom to observe the replica cultural relics in the museum up close, participate in knowledge quizzes, and receive creative cultural souvenirs prepared by the guide.
5. Learning and Singing about August 1st
The guide will teach the children to sing red songs such as "August 1st Ballad" and "Song of the Chinese People's Liberation Army", inspiring their red sentiments through song and helping them understand the essence of the revolution.
