After the victory of the armed uprising, on the morning of August 1st, Comrade Shen Su, the Minister of Commerce of the Nationalist Party's Nanchang Party Department (organized during the Kuomintang-Communist cooperation), met with General He Long at the Anglican Church and talked for more than an hour. The main hope was to convene the city's business committee to mobilize them to continue their businesses. There was also a desire to establish a new Jiangxi Bank. Subsequently, the city’s business association held meetings for various industries to mobilize them to quickly resume business and announced the slogans issued by the general command at that time: (1) All Chinese people unite; (2) Overthrow imperialism; (3) Overthrow the old and new warlords; (4) Overthrow the counter-revolutionary Chiang Kai-shek; (5) Implement land ownership for the tillers. They also notified various industries to quickly post notices in the city's streets and alleys.

On August 1st, shops in Nanchang City operated as usual, and at the same time, a revolutionary committee was announced to be established, with 25 members including Zhu De, Zhou Enlai, He Long, Ye Ting, Liu Bocheng, Wu Yuzhang, Lin Boqu, Song Qingling, Yun Daiying, Peng Pai, Li Lisan, Guo Moruo, and others. On August 2nd, the people of Nanchang and the uprising army held a celebration of the victory of the August 1st Nanchang Uprising and the establishment of the revolutionary committee at the sports field beside the Huangdian. The number of attendees reached 30,000 to 40,000, with the presidium of the conference including He Long, Ye Ting, Yun Daiying, Li Lisan, Jiang Jihuan, Xiao Bingzhang, Zou Nu, Xiao Guohua, Li Xiaoqing, and others, with Li Lisan serving as the host. After speeches from the presidium, the 30,000 to 40,000 attendees were extremely excited and further recognized that the August 1st uprising pointed out the glorious path of revolution for the Chinese people.

On August 4th, the uprising army prepared to retreat, and upon hearing the news, the citizens quickly organized support for the uprising army, including comfort and transportation teams.

After the uprising army completely withdrew from Nanchang on August 5th, the reactionary party department and government resumed operations one after another, issuing strict orders for all people's organizations to cease activities, and a bloody atmosphere of white terror suddenly emerged in Nanchang City.
