Name: The Water Tank for the Soldiers of the August First Uprising

Introduction:

In the courtyard of the Jiangxi Grand Hotel, there are four large water tanks, which are used by the hotel to raise goldfish and for fire prevention.

In late July 1927, the troops of the Nanchang Uprising rented the Jiangxi Grand Hotel. The weather was extremely hot at that time, and the comrades responsible for logistics in the uprising troops asked the workers at the hotel if they could prepare some cool boiled water to quench the thirst of the comrades. The workers at the hotel readily agreed and boiled water every day to pour into the large water tanks for the comrades of the uprising troops to drink.

The story of this water tank fully demonstrates the support of the hotel workers for the uprising troops.

During the Anti-Japanese War, the Japanese occupied Nanchang, and the owner of the Jiangxi Grand Hotel fled. The water tank was taken by another hotel for the Japanese to use for bathing. After liberation, the water tank was restored to its original place.
