On May 18, 2018, the 15th (2017 Annual) National Museum Top Ten Exhibition and Display Excellence Recommendation Award Ceremony, co-hosted by the China Museum Association and the China Cultural Relics News, was held at the Shanghai Museum of History. The basic exhibition "The Great Beginning of the Nanchang Uprising" at the Nanchang August 1st Uprising Memorial Museum won the National Top Ten Exhibition and Display Excellence Award, marking the second time our museum has received the highest award for museum exhibitions since 2008.
On May 18, 2018, the 15th (2017 Annual) National Museum Top Ten Exhibition Boutique Recommendation Award Ceremony, co-hosted by the China Museum Association and the China Cultural Relics Newspaper, was held at the Shanghai History Museum. The basic exhibition "Nanchang Uprising: A Great Beginning" at the Nanchang August 1st Uprising Memorial Museum won the National Top Ten Exhibition Boutique Award, marking the second time our museum has received the highest award for national museum exhibitions since 2008.
This recommendation activity received application materials for 66 exhibition projects submitted by various provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities). After strict review, a total of 64 projects passed the final review, with 25 projects shortlisted for the final evaluation. Among them, there are 21 domestic exhibitions and 4 international exhibitions. After rigorous selection and scrutiny by experts at the final evaluation meeting, 10 boutique awards were ultimately selected.
The "Nanchang Uprising: A Great Beginning" exhibition embodies the concept of "telling the August 1st story well and inheriting the red gene." The theme is "Nanchang Uprising: A Great Beginning," and it is divided into six parts: "Rising in Crisis," "Great Decisions," "Firing the First Shot," "Southward to Guangdong," "Battling on Jinggang Mountain," and "Heroes Shine in China," comprising 21 units. It fully incorporates the latest research achievements in party history and military history, combining grand narratives with micro-stories to form a vivid and dynamic story chain. The exhibition focuses on promoting the historical achievements of the Nanchang Uprising and the glorious 90-year journey of the people's army under the party's leadership, from nothing to something, and from victory to victory.
Since the exhibition opened to the public on August 1, 2017, it has received positive feedback from all sectors of society and achieved good social benefits. By the end of April 2018, the number of visitors reached 1.8932 million, with an average monthly visitor count of 210,300. The highest single-day visitor count exceeded 20,000, with 4,309 free guided tours and over 80,000 audience comments. Various media outlets, including People's Daily, Guangming Daily, CCTV Channel 1, CCTV News Channel, and Xinhua Net, reported on the exhibition more than 300 times. A total of 86 themed educational activities were held, showcasing the "August 1st" characteristics through storytelling, singing red songs, exhibition performances, explanation training, handicraft making, and cultural and creative products, truly allowing the red gene to be passed on and integrated into the blood of the masses!
