The Nanchang August 1st Uprising Memorial Museum is a specialized memorial established to commemorate the Nanchang Uprising. It was founded in 1956 and officially opened to the public in 1959. In 1961, it was announced by the State Council as one of the first batch of key cultural relic protection units in the country, which includes five revolutionary historical sites: the former headquarters of the General Command, the former headquarters of He Long, the former headquarters of Ye Ting, the former site of the Zhu De Military Education Corps, and Zhu De's former residence.
